Inmortui Terminology

Danger Classes:

All inmortui are divided into “danger classes” that indicate how much of a threat that species poses to an individual. Danger classes only take into account a single person’s chances of taking a single specimen of a particular species down, and do not account for factors such as how many of them there may be.

Halcyon: Poses no direct threat to other lifeforms.

Dretching: Is capable of eliminating other lifeforms, and can do so fairly efficiently. Dretching being the lowest actual danger class does not infer weakness.

Periculum: Is typically capable of eliminating a few lifeforms at once, and can do so with ease. Periculum entities require either significant firepower or advanced planning to take down.

Malediction: Is typically capable of eliminating huge groups of lifeforms at once. Malediction entities are rarely taken down, and any attempts to do so typically result in a significant loss of life.

Cataclysm: Is capable of single handedly massacring armies. Cataclysm entities are often thought to be immortal. No known lifeforms or technology are capable of eliminating cataclysm-class entities.

Birthing Methods:

Inmortui have many different birthing methods. Each known method is listed below. This list is not exhaustive and may be updated as more developments are made in researching inmortui.

Brood: Birthed from inmortui nests

Parasite: Birthed from the bodies of other lifeforms

Assimilation: Birthed from the transfer of inmortui consciousness

Standard Inmortui Violence (SIV):

“Standard Inmortui Violence” (SIV) is the classification given to all known methods of eliminating or subduing inmortui.

Incendiary: The vital essence of standard inmortui is highly flammable. It is important to note that their exterior is flame-retardant, rendering flame-based weapons useless without a means of breaking through their outer flesh first.

Spiritual: All known inmortui material will evaporate upon contact with element 151. There are no known inmortui who have immunities to spiritual violence.

Electronic: The vital essence of standard inmortui is susceptible to some forms of electronic disruption, such as EMPs. Although not lethal, these methods can temporarily subdue inmortui. It is important to note that inmortui will develop an immunity to these frequencies if exposed to them for an extended period of time.

Subsonic: Inmortui that have adapted to hear exceptionally well are subdued by being exposed to very specific frequencies of sound. Although not lethal, these methods can temporarily subdue inmortui. It is important to note that inmortui will develop an immunity to these frequencies if exposed to them for an extended period of time.

Temperate: All known inmortui cannot function for extended periods of time in warm conditions. If an inmortui is forced to survive in such conditions for an extended period of time, they will experience a progressively severe lack of energy until they ultimately die.
